Lake Blackshear Resort is an addition to an existing 15,000 square foot conference facility on the shore of Lake Blackshear, within Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park. The Rabun Architects commission was
for a major expansion, including 77 guestrooms, a fitness center, a 100 seat restaurant, and lakefront site improvements.  The restaurant and kitchen expansion adjoins the existing conference center and features a 30 seat lounge overlooking the lake. The hotel functions are housed separately in the Inn, a three-story lodge nearby, and eight luxury Villas. The Inn is connected to the Conference Center by an open arcade, through which arriving guests enjoy their first view of the lake. The guestrooms are generously sized, with high ceilings, and feature separate desks for double-occupancy conference guests. All guestrooms face the lake, and many have private screened porches with lake views.
